Busy times in Rusty Town.

Well it's been a busy few weeks here at Château Rusty.   I've had a birthday, shopped till I dropped, a new haircut, danced the light fantastic, and started back at out-patient physio.  The old brain has been a bit overwhelmed, as has my body, hence the lack of posting.  Hibernation has been order of the day.

I did manage to pump out one post over at Studio 30 Plus where I was honoured to be a featured blogger.  I'm sure I have done my mamma proud by using the words "sucked donkey balls" repeatedly in a post.  I can see her sending copies to all her friends at the gardening club.

The lovely Phoebe aka Lady Melbourne has put up her post about our shopping day for the competition I won.  I will have to say it was one of the best days I've had, and both Phoebe and Jo, my stylist, were truly lovely.  I went in as a shopping tragic and left holding firmly onto my newly rediscovered mojo.  A huge thanks goes out to my gorgeous friend Kerri who came along for the ride and pushed me around in a wheelchair at the Westfield Shopping Centre for 3 hrs.   And Mr Grumpy, who took the day off work to drive me around town.  I will post about the day and pop up a few extra photos in a little while.

Well it's time for me to head back to the cave for some further hibernation.

Cheers
Michelle :)

  1. You. Look. MAHvelous. But I can't tell if that's due to the clothes or that giant smile...

  2. Is it wrong that I want to see pictures of the PJ alternatives? :) From my Dysautonomian to another... I'd love to feel a bit more "put together" even if I can't handle "real clothes" on any given day. Frump seems to be my new middle name since becoming ill... somehow my hubby doesn't notice it... but there are days it gets me down.

  3. oops - that *my was supposed to be *one*... "from ONE Dysautonomian to another..." I swear my life would be easier if my fingers could type without my brain... :) Then it wouldn't matter when my brain fog kicks in!

  4. Thank goodness I have found at least one other person on this Earth who still uses "Sucks donkey balls." Every time I use that phrase, my girlfriend rolls her eyes. So much so, I'm afraid her head is going to whip back, and I'm going to watch her fall over.

  5. I was good and clicked on the links to posts. Wow look at you. Except I also want to see the pj alternatives.
Adore the dress - look at you. woohoo.

I absolutely cannot help but say are you sure you are not hypermobile? (it takes one to know one). Its just that if you look at you in the picture with your snazzy dress, sexy stockings and shiny shoes.... you are very cleverly holding onto the table to prop yourself but what I also see which no one else would notice so don't panic. That you are actually holding your arms backwards, suggesting hypermobile elbows, wrists, shoulders, etc.. just had to say. eeek

I have a confession maybe its because I am from the UK but I don't get the 'sucks donkey balls' I get the whole thing behind the phrase though from the post which was brilliant.

I wish you a very belated Happy Birthday.

I am sure the day completely exhausted you but boy it looks as though when days are exhausting anyway this day was full of smiles, new clothes and a new bra and I know how long I have put that off for so very long so understand, so brilliant uplifting *I guess in more ways than one, post. Thank you.

  7. Elly Lou - thanks babe. It was such a great day in so many ways, it was like breathing again.

Nonna - I will be putting up pics of my pj alternatives. Don't know what's happened the last few weeks. Think I just hit a wall but am getting back so photos will be on their was soon. They were great in getting what I wanted/needed rather than pushing me into stuff I might not wear. Mr G never says anything either but I was really feeling the frump.

  9. Achelois - good spotting I do have some hypermobile joints. It took a while for my physio to get that normal range of movement in my right hip was actually crap compared to my normal. He got it eventually especially when I moved my left one! Thanks for the birthday wishes. My reply is late as I've been hibernating so together we're kinda normal. Twas exhausting at the deb but very worth it.

All who are lovely enough to comment should be showered with cup cakes, glitter and macarons. I promise to use my spoon bending mind powers to try and get that happening for all who are lovely enough to share their words. Those who go the extra step to share posts should really get a free unicorn. Or at least the gift of finding the shortest and quickest line at the supermarket on a regular basis. xx
